Savio Salesian College was originally due to join the Pope Francis Multi Academy Trust on 1st April 2021.

The Board of Directors of the Pope Francis Multi Academy Trust has applied to the Department of Education for significant funding to ensure that when the school converts to an academy it will be in the strongest possible position to bring about immediate and sustained school improvement.

This does include a request for investment in the school buildings and the accomodation used by the young people in the school.

This request from the Trust Board to the Department of Education has resulted in a delay in the process of academisation as the funding will need to be secured before the conversion can occur.

The Trust should hear soon if the requests are being supported and in order to give the Department of Education the time that is needed to make the decision.

It is hoped that the community of Savio and South Sefton will keep the Pope Francis Multi Academy Trust and the Department of education in their prayers and that a decision is made that sees the students of Savio get the school that they deserve.
